Thousands of people are at further risk of landslides in Papua New New Guinea, as the search for people continues in a village in the province of Enga.

The country’s disaster agency said it feared 2,000 people were buried by the landslide, a much higher estimate than the UN’s 670.

Exact casualty figures for the disaster, which tore through the village in the early hours of Friday, have been difficult to establish.

Satellite images reveal the scale of the deadly landslide and video footage shows desperate attempts to rescue survivors thought to be buried under the rubble.
