  5. Israeli strikes in Rafah reportedly killed at least 12 people overnight, while three Israeli soldiers were killed in a Hamas rocket attack near the Kerem Shalom crossing
  6. Meanwhile talks aimed at securing a ceasefire deal in Gaza and the release of hostages have stalled, with Israel and Hamas saying they will not give ground on key demands
  7. Israel’s PM Benjamin Netanyahu said that “surrendering” to Hamas demands would amount to defeat. Hamas chief Ismail Haniyeh accused Netanyahu of sabotaging the talks
