Ranveer Singh recently stunned his fans with an intense self-portrait in the style of post-impressionist European painter Vincent Van Gogh. The post attracted much attention and some fans even wondered if Bollywood’s one of the most bankable actor is also a brilliant artist. However, professional artist and his fan, Swapnil Pawar has claimed credits for the art piece Ranveer has shared.
Swapnil is utilizing the lockdown period to hone his skills. He has started a photo series where he is experimenting with popular portrait style and his first subject was the ‘Gully Boy’ actor. Talking to Hindustan Times, Swapnil said that he is in no mood to stir controversy but would have appreciated if the actor gives him credit for his work.
A day after Ranveer’s post, Swapnil made a new creation featuring the Gully Boy star and wrote, “#Credit ko mar goli bro Ranveer Singh deserves more…Experiment with Ranveer Singh.” Filmmaker Omung Kumar was among the many to have appreciated his post earlier this month. Swapnil’s, photo series also includes portraits of Deepika Padukone, Madhuri Dixit as Mona Lisa, Nawazuddin Siddique as a Joker, Vicky Kaushal as Charlie Chaplin and several others.
Ranveer has shared the painting with a Van Gogh quote that is most relevant in recent times, “As we advance in life it becomes more and more difficult, but in fighting the difficulties the inmost strength of the heart is developed. Vincent Van Gogh.” Several actors like Huma Qureshi and Manish Malhotra dropped heart emojis on Ranveer’s post.
Ranveer will be seen hitting the ball of the park in the sports drama 83, inspired from India’s historic first Cricket World Cup win. Rumors are rife that the movie directed by Kabir Khan, on missing a theatrical release due to lockdown will get a digital release on streaming platforms soon.
