
A bride from Madhya Pradesh, Jat Khedi district tested positive for coronavirus on the third day of her marriage. The bride, reportedly, got married despite suffering from cold and fever for the last few days and. After the 25-year-old was taken to a Covid-19 hospital, 32 family members who came in contact with her were sent to home quarantine.
The news that spread like wildfire in the adjoining villages has sent several other newlywed couples in Madhya Pradesh in state of panic. They have rushed to the local administration requesting them to collect their samples for coronavirus tests.

The Madhya Pradesh government has earlier directed that not more than 50 people are allowed in the marriage functions. The invitees are required to wear face masks and maintaining social distancing on occasion. Around 100 marriages have been conducted in the state in the last fortnight after the state government relaxed lockdown norms.
Meanwhile, in another remote case, a two-and-a-half-month-old child succumbed to COVID in Amritsar. He was admitted to the isolation ward of Guru Nanak Dev Hospital after he complained of pneumonia and chest infection and was under treatment for two days.
After the center eased norms for the fourth phase of lockdown, the country has been witnessing more than 5000 coronavirus positive cases daily. While flight services are all set to resume by May 25, train seat booking has started in full swing at IRCTC’s website.
