Bollywood Celebs Digital Concert ‘I For India’ Raises Over Rs 52 Crore for COVID-19 Relief

Bollywood Stars Digital concert “I for India”, held to raise funds for the frontliners working round-the-clock to save us from coronavirus pandemic in the country, has raised an amount of over Rs 52 cr. donations for relief.

Facebook associated with some of the biggest names in the Entertainment industry, including Superstars Shah Rukh Khan, Aamir Khan, Priyanka Chopra. Also,Hollywood names like Mick Jagger, Will Smith, and Sophie Turner for the fundraiser concert on 3 May 2020.

The I For India concert, which was organized to raise money to help fight the novel coronavirus, has collected Rs 52 crore till date. The Digital concert, which was an initiative of director-producers Karan Johar and Zoya Akhtar, saw the participation of many Bollywood and international celebrities.

Now, celebs are taking to social media to thank fans for their generous contribution. All the funds raised from the concert will go to the India COVID Response Fund, to support on-ground relief.

The Virtual concert also featured Bollywood stars Kareena Kapoor Khan, Vidya Balan, Shabana Azmi, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Arjun Kapoor, Saif Ali Khan, Rani Mukerji, Diljit Dosanjh, Salman Khan, Katrina Kaif, Vicky Kaushal, Anushka Sharma, Ayushmann Khurrana, Mindy Kaling, Jack Black, among others.

Along with singing and poetry reading, the celebrities also addressed the plight of migrant workers, daily wage earners, hunger in times of COVID-19, child abuse, and domestic violence, both of which have been on a rise since the lockdown began in India from March 25. They also encouraged the audience to treat stray animals affectionately and develop eco-friendly habits going forward.
